Music class at St. Matthews is where we do singing, moving, listening, poems, songs, instruments, dancing, composers, notation, genres, high and low pitch and melody, quiet and loud dynamics, fast and slow tempos, discovering and making music together.

This month we learned how to sing echo songs like the hello song and many others! We sang our names along with the xylophone, echoed 4 beat rhythm patterns and learned some songs and rhymes. We sang along with the guitar and learned At the Easel and Hooray for God. We danced and moved to What a Miracle by Hap Palmer. We played percussion instruments along with the song, Cool Shape Band. We danced to Pick Up the Shapes and The Color Game by Jim Gill. The fours, fives and Kindergarten sang Peanut Butter, Jelly with instruments. In addition the Kindergarten sang The Other Day I Met a Bear, Can’t Wait to Hibernate and Grumpy Grizzly. Halloween and fall songs are next as we will continue to have fun in music class!
